Kathmandu: VIP travellers traveling from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will no longer be able to take their vehicles from the VIP room to the aircraft parking bay.

So far, VIPs are allowed to take thier vehicle to the parking bay and they can directly get into the aircraft. However, now onwards VIP vehicle arranged by the respected airline company will take VIP travelers to the aircraft.

Issuing a notice, TIA has informed about the rule and requested all the airline operators to do the needful.

Earlier, former prime minister, party presidents and ministers used to take their own cars to the aircraft. People have been criticising this rule for a long time.

The airport has also made a provision to note down the details of the VIP vehicle entering the restricted area and get a pass at the domestic terminal 1 hour before the flight.
