Kathmandu: Police have arrested three people in Dang with the skin of a banned red panda.
Police have arrested three persons with five pieces of skin of a banned red panda during a check on Bhaluwang-Pyuthan road section in Rapti Rural Municipality.
The arrested are Ram Bahadur Thapa, 32, of Rolpa’s Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality, Rupak Khadka, 20, of Lungri Rural Municipality and Ram Kumar Pun Magar, 19, of Sunchahari Rural Municipality, according to Dang District Police Office.
According to the police, the initial investigation revealed that they were bringing red panda skin from the Himalayan region to sell elsewhere.
