Swiss business delegation explores investment opportunities in Nepal

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Switzerland, in collaboration with Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) and the Nepal Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NSCCI), orchestrated the Second Fact-Finding Mission, hosting a delegation of Swiss business representatives in Nepal from March 17 to March 20.

The primary objective of the mission was to acquaint Swiss companies with the Nepali market landscape, key stakeholders, and potential investment avenues.

Participating in the mission were prominent Swiss organizations such as Ferring, Roche, Stone Step, and Swiss Re. Over the course of their visit, the delegation engaged in extensive discussions with various entities, including the Ministry of Health, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and the Department of Drug Administration, with a particular focus on sectors such as health, Insurtech, and infrastructure development.

Dr. Danielle Meuwly, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, lauded the accomplishments of the initial fact-finding mission conducted in November 2022, citing milestones like the air service agreement between Nepal and Switzerland. Dr. Meuwly expressed confidence that this follow-up mission would further propel Nepal’s transition from aid dependency to a more trade-centric relationship.
