Suspended RSP general secretary calls for internal probe against President amid allegations

Kathmandu: Mukul Dhakal, recently suspended as General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has demanded an internal investigation into party President Rabi Lamichhane.

Dhakal made this appeal during a press conference on Wednesday, citing concerns over alleged passport and cooperative fraud linked to Lamichhane. Referring to a Supreme Court directive, Dhakal insisted on a high-level inquiry within the party, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability.

During the session, Dhakal addressed the rift between him and Lamichhane, attributing it to his criticism of government inefficiencies, particularly within the RSP. He highlighted bureaucratic obstacles hindering their initiatives and expressed a call for public self-criticism from the party.

Accusing Lamichhane of influencing key party figures against him, Dhakal mentioned individuals like Joint-Treasurer Deepak Bohra and Joint-Spokesperson Ramesh Prasai. Despite requesting a meeting with Lamichhane, Dhakal claimed his efforts were rebuffed.
