Suspect arrested three years after killing rhino in ‘Chitwan National Park’

Kathmandu: Chitwan National Park (CNP) authorities have successfully arrested Khesar Bahadur Bohora, alias Tikaram Bohora, from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-2 on January 23. The arrest comes three years after he allegedly killed a rhino in the Amaltari area of Nawalparasi on September 17, 2019.

The suspect has been accused of not only shooting and killing the rhino but also severing its horn. The incident, which occurred in CNP, saw the killing of a rhino on November 5, 2020, and the theft of its horn.

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the Information Officer for CNP, revealed that Bohora is one of 25 defendants involved in the 2019 incident. Of these, 21 individuals, including Bohora, have been arrested, while three others remain at large. The arrested suspect was presented before the Chitwan District Court on Wednesday.
