Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel administered an oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki as per the Constitution of Nepal.
Karki was sworn in as the Prime Minister a while ago at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas. The Karki-led interim government is given the mandate to conduct the general elections in six months.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut, former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, the chiefs of the constitutional bodies, heads of the different diplomatic missions based in Kathmandu and high-level government officials were present in the swearing in ceremony.
Karki, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, was appointed the PM today from the President in the new political situation emerged after the Gen-Z Revolt.
