Supreme Court orders not to impose suspension over governor

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has issued a short-term interim order not to implement the decision to suspend the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Maha Prasad Adhikari.

He was automatically suspended after the government formed a committee to investigate the governor. Adhikari had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday against the government’s decision.

Hearing the writ petition, a single bench of Justice Hari Phuyal on Tuesday issued an interim order not to remove the governor and allow him to remain in office.
