Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has given an interim order to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to collect the garbage from Singhadurbar within three days.
On Friday, the single bench of Justice Prakashman Singh Raut ordered the collection and disposal of garbage from the area where the President’s office Sheetal Niwas and the Prime Minister’s office are located, along with Singhadurbar.
Earlier, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, said that the federal government did not coordinate with the local government and gave instructions not to collect garbage in that area.
Against this decision of Mayor Shah, advocate Padam Bahadur Shrestha filed a writ in the Supreme Court keeping Kathmandu Metropolitan City as an opponent.
