South Korean tourist dies of altitude sickness in Manang

Kathmandu: A South Korean tourist died of altitude sickness while returning from Tilicho Lake in Manang district, officials confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place at Thoroj Khola in Ngisyang Rural Municipality-9. The deceased has been identified as Myeongok Jong, according to police.

Police have been deployed to manage the body.

Tilicho Lake, located at an altitude of over 4,900 meters, is a popular trekking destination in the Annapurna region, but the high altitude poses health risks for unacclimatized visitors.
