Kathmandu: Popular singer Ravi Oad finds himself in police custody regarding a case of marital rape. Oad voluntarily surrendered to authorities at the District Police Office in Jhalari, Krishnapur Municipality of Kanchanpur.
The district court has remanded Oad into judicial custody for a five-day period to facilitate further investigation into the allegations.
The accusations stem from a complaint lodged by Oad’s wife on April 2, alleging marital rape. Subsequently, the police obtained an arrest warrant following the district court’s approval earlier on the same day. However, Oad was unavailable for arrest at that time, as he was abroad participating in a musical event.
The case has sparked widespread attention and concern, shedding light on the sensitive issue of marital rape, and prompting authorities to take swift action in pursuit of justice.
