Kathmandu: Sanitizer worth Rs. 542.06 million has been imported in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year.
The data released by the Department of Customs till mid-April shows that 1,718 tonnes of sanitizer has been imported to Nepal by mid-April.
Nepal has been found to be importing sanitizers from more than a dozen countries, including two neighboring countries. By mid-April, most imports have come from India. During the same period, 1,354 tonnes of sanitizers worth Rs 387.81 million were imported from India alone.
According to the department, 299 tonnes of sanitizers worth Rs 115.43 million were imported from China. Similarly, 28,419 kg of sanitizer worth Rs. 176.15 million has been imported from UAE.
Similarly, 30,269 kg of sanitizer has been imported from Vietnam. Similarly, from Korea sanitizer has been imported 5,004 kg or of Rs 3.53 million, from Bangladesh 1,088 kg of sanitizer worth Rs 879,000 and From Malaysia 1.1 kg of sanitizer has been imported.
The sanitizer has also been imported to Nepal from Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, and other countries.
