(Kathmandu): Nepali national cricket team leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane left for Pakistan on Saturday to play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021.
After joining Lahore Calendars, Sandeep left for Karachi, Pakistan on Saturday.
Sandeep is sure to play PSL only on next Friday evening.
The Lahore Calendars have decided to replace Lamichhane with Rashid Khan. Rashid had taken only one wicket in two games. Khan dropped out of the PSL due to the Test and T20 series against Zimbabwe. In his place, Lahore has chosen Sandeep.
Earlier, Lamichhane was in the most expensive platinum category in the PSL draft.
The draft included Sandeep from Nepal along with former captain Paras Khadka, vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airy, captain Gyanendra Malla, Karan KC, Kushal Malla, Abhinas Bohora, Pawan Sarraf, Subash Khakurel and Asif Sheikh.
But all the Nepali players failed to be selected in the team from the draft. The Lahore Calendars have won two and lost one of the three matches of the ongoing tournament. Lahore Calendars is in the fourth position of the league.
Lahore will play its fourth match against Karachi Kings on Sunday.
Sandeep had earlier played from Lahore in 2019 as well. Sandeep had taken 11 wickets in seven games.
