Road accident killed 54 people in last five days

Kathmandu: In last five days, a total of 54 people have died in road accident. As per the Nepal Police, so far 556 vehicle accidents have occurred across the country. 54 people have lost their lives and 1,057 people have been injured in road accidents.

It has been estimated that more accidents have occured this year compared to the same period of last year.

This data shows that the government’s promise to make Dashain travel safe this year has not been fulfilled.

The rush of passengers during Dashain, there are potholes and bumps all over the roads and highways, vehicles running at high speed on such dilapidated roads without mechanical testing are getting into accidents on the highways during Dashain.

Moreover, the continuous rainfall has create troubles in long travels.
