Remittances increase by 19.2 pc in last 10 months

Kathmandu: Remittance inflows have increased by 19.2 percent to Rs.809.89 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year against a decrease of 6.3 percent in the same period of the previous year.
The net transfer has increased by 17.2 percent to Rs.903.77 billion in the review period. Such a transfer had decreased 6.9 percent in the same period of the previous year.
According to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the number of Nepali workers (institutional and individual-new and legalized) taking approval for foreign employment decreased 60.3 percent in the review period. It had decreased by 2.7 percent in the same period of the previous year.
The number of Nepali workers (Renew entry) taking approval for foreign employment has also decreased by 49.0 percent in the review period. It had decreased 24.6 percent in the same period of the previous year.
