Kathmandu: The country’s private sector has welcomed the government’s decision of approving the US aid project MCC. The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (FNI), Independent Power Producers Association (IPPAN) and other organizations have issued a statement on Tuesday stating that the approval of MCC is a positive issue for Nepal’s infrastructure development and demanded its immediate implementation.
They have expressed confidence that the timely completion of the construction of power transmission lines and road maintenance projects, which are of strategic importance in the development of Nepal, will help in high economic growth.
They expressed their belief in the implementation of the agreement to help in reviving the economy after the epidemic, opening the door for long-term export of electricity and technology transfer and completion of projects under MCC within five years.
