President Paudel authenticates the Citizenship Bill

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has authenticated the Citizenship Bill.

President Paudel on Wednesday approved the bill to amend the Nepal Citizenship Act, 2063.

The Citizenship Bill, which was passed twice by the previous Parliament, was halted at the President’s Office after the then President Bidhya Devi Bhandari did not authenticate it.

The current government requested President Paudel to pass the citizenship bill. The Council of Ministers meeting had decided to send the Citizenship Bill to the President for authentication.

Earlier, President Paudel had also discussed with legal professionals about the citizenship bill, which was stalled in the President’s office.
