Kathmandu: Women Political Leaders (WPL), a group of women leaders around the world, honored President Bidhya Devi Bhandari with the Trailblazer Award.
President Bhandari was honored at the Reykjavik Global Forum held in Iceland. She went to Iceland last Monday to participate in the conference. She also addressed the conference.
Women leaders from different countries also had a courtesy meeting with President Bhandari. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister of Iceland and President of the World Women’s Leadership Council Katrin Jacobsdóttir had a courtesy meeting with President Bhandari.
On the occasion of the meeting, views were exchanged on the relations between Nepal and Iceland, gender equality, climate change and other issues.
