Kathmandu: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has commuted the imprisonment of 834 prisoners.
The imprisonment has been commuted on the occasion of Republic Day.
According to the Office of the President, 271 people including Khadga Shreng Limbu, 547 people including Nara Bahadur Sawa and 16 people including Umakanta Parajuli have been pardoned since on the recommendation of the cabinet.
The country is marking Republic Day on Sunday.
