Preparations against third wave of COVID-19 underway in Banke

Ranja (Rashtriya Samachar Samiti): Preparations for the third wave have begun in Banke, which has become a ‘hotspot’ at the beginning of the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The locals of Banke are preparing for the prevention and response of the third wave of corona virus outbreak. Khajura rural municipality Chairman Kismat Kumar Kaksapati informed that necessary preparations have been started as the third wave of epidemic could spread again even if the corona virus infection and death rate are decreasing recently.

He said that the homework has already been started to prevent the possible effect of third wave of COVID-19. He said that preparations have been started for the control and response of the third wave of Corona epidemic.

The Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city is planning to plan prevention and mitigation programs by targeting the corona virus infection in the coming fiscal year. Sub-metropolitan spokesperson Pramod Rijal said that necessary preparations have been made for that by coordinating with the province, central government and health organizations.

Shiva Ram Gelal, coordinator and chief district officer of District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center Banke, said that they will move ahead by formulating necessary strategies at the district level to combat the third wave of corona epidemic.

He informed that as Banke is a border district of India, people movement will be halting, health check-ups will be increasing and necessary works will be done with preparation and planning in coordination with the local levels.
