Kathmandu: The anticipated post-mortem report for the young girl who tragically died in a Chitwan hostel is expected to be available by Monday. Following the family’s concerns about the post-mortem process in Chitwan, the girl’s body was sent to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for examination.
Ramesh Bista, a police inspector overseeing the investigation at the Tandi Area Police Office, stated that the post-mortem report would be ready by Monday. The investigation will then proceed based on the information provided in the report.
Bista clarified that the information circulating on social media is inaccurate and urged reliance on the official post-mortem report set to be released on Monday.
The 14-year-old, Shalin Pokhrel, residing in the hostel of Ekta Shishu Niketan Boarding School in Ratnanagar Municipality-15, was discovered deceased last Saturday. Her body, found hanging by a rope from the ceiling fan in the hostel room, is currently undergoing a post-mortem examination at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.
In response to the teenager’s tragic death, her family filed a murder complaint. Subsequently, the police arrested the school’s principal, Balhari Devkota (60), the vice-principal, Kiran Bahadur Adhikari (40), and the hostel warden, Kamal Sharma Paudel (48), on Tuesday.
According to the Chitwan District Court’s order, they will be held in detention for seven days as part of the ongoing investigations.
