PM Oli to seek vote of confidence amid constitutional deadline

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced plans to seek a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Sunday, according to Mahesh Bertaula, Chief Whip of the CPN-UML party.

PM Oli, appointed under Article 76 (2) of Nepal’s Constitution, has a mandated period of one month to secure a vote of confidence, as stipulated in Article 76 (4).

Despite the allotted time, Prime Minister Oli has expedited preparations to undergo the confidence vote promptly.
