PM Oli takes oath of office and secrecy

Kathmandu: KP Sharma Oli sworn in as Nepal’s Prime Minister at Sheetal Niwas on Monday, with President Ram Chandra Paudel administering the oath of office and secrecy.

President Paudel appointed Oli to the position on Sunday, citing Article 76 (2) of the Constitution.

Oli assumes office following his alliance with the NC and the withdrawal of support from the government led by Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who was removed from the post of Prime Minister on July 12 after failing to secure a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.
