Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has secured a vote of confidence for the third time in the House of Representatives. The crucial vote, held on Wednesday, marks a pivotal moment for Dahal’s leadership amidst recent political shifts.
Following the withdrawal of support from the Nepali Congress (NC) on March 5, PM Dahal called for a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives to reaffirm his position. Today, he garnered 157 votes in his favor, solidifying his majority with the support of various political parties, including the CPN-UML.
During the voting process, a total of 268 Members of Parliament were present in the House of Representatives. Of these, 157 votes were cast in favor of Prime Minister Dahal, while 110 were against him. Notably, one lawmaker abstained from voting.
This reaffirmation of confidence underscores the ongoing political dynamics in Nepal and reaffirms Prime Minister Dahal’s ability to maintain majority support within the parliament.
