Kathmandu: At least 124 people have died after a plane crash during landing at Muan Airport in South Korea. The Boeing 737-800, operated by Jeju Air, was carrying 181 passengers on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand.
Footage circulating online shows the aircraft veering off the runway, colliding with a wall, and bursting into flames.
While the exact cause of the crash remains unconfirmed, the fire service has suggested that poor weather conditions and a possible bird strike could have contributed to the tragedy.
Two survivors, both members of the flight crew, have been rescued from the wreckage. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing as emergency teams work at the site.
Further updates are awaited as authorities investigate the incident.
