Kathmandu: Two people have died in Biratnagar on the same day due to the consumption of hand-sanitizer. A man and a woman died while undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.
According to Morang District Police Office Dinesh Mandal, 60, of Jahada Gaonpalika-4 of Morang died on Monday morning after consuming sanitizer during a dispute with his wife.
Similarly, 65-year-old Ambika Giri, a resident of Shivasatakshi Municipality-4 of Jhapa has also died after consuming hand-sanitizer.
According to police, Giri had used sanitizer as alcohol. Mandal had consumed sanitizer after a family dispute. Giri, who was intoxicated with alcohol, had consumed half a bottle of sanitizer around 11 pm on Saturday.
