Kathmandu: Citing that the children are at risk of covid-19 infection the parliamentary committee has directed to close the school immediately.

A meeting of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee under the National Assembly on Friday concluded that even after the corona infection was confirmed in the students, the school administrators were conducting the classes in the physical presence of the students and that increased the risk of infection in the children.

The committee has instructed the Ministry of Health and Population to stop the learning in physical presence and conduct online or alternative means keeping in view the appeal and suggestions of the experts. The committee has also directed to take action against those who refuse to close the school even after seeing the corona infection.

During the discussion, the members of the participating committee said that a large number of children are at high risk of COVID-19 due to physical presence in the school and suggested that the government should immediately close the schools.
