Kathmandu: The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) has suspended paragliding flights across the country for an indefinite period.
CAAN has informed that it has been decided to stop paragliding flights until further notice due to serious safety issues.
After the accident in Pokhara today, CAAN has decided to stop all types of recreational, commercial and sports paragliding.
The authority has now prepared to issue new safety standards for paragliding flights. Niseem Thapa, who played for the Nepali Army, died in a paragliding accident on Sunday morning during the ninth National Games competition.
