Kathmandu: The government has given permission to Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to mint 150 million coins of 5 rupees.
The Council of Ministers meeting held on Tuesday decided to approve the minting of the said amount of coins.
At present, the minting department of Nepal Rastra Bank is minting only 1 rupee and 2 rupee coins, now the Rastra Bank is going to introduce 5 rupee coins in the market.
The new Rs 5 coin will come with a new design. The new design of the coin is said to reflect the culture of Nepal and the national animal will also be marked on the coin.
