Newly appointed Prime Minister Deuba takes oath

Kathmandu: Newly appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has taken oath of office and secrecy.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas this evening.

Congress Chairman Deuba had objected to the language of appointment even though he was preparing to take oath at 6 pm. Deuba had said that the appointment was made in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court had ordered Congress president Deuba to be appointed as prime minister.

Janardan Sharma has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance from the Maoist Center while Pampha Bhusal has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy.

Deuba has appointed Bal Krishna as Home Minister and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki as Law Minister. The newly appointed minister was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Prime Minister Deuba today.
