Kathmandu: A new serotype of dengue has been confirmed in Nepal this year.
While testing 12 samples, serotype ‘one’ was found in seven, while serotype ‘three’ was confirmed in five samples. Among the four serotypes of dengue, serotype ‘one’ and ‘two’ were seen in Nepal before this, while serotype ‘three’ was seen for the first time in Nepal.
Based on the results of the test conducted in Dharan, it cannot be said that serotype ‘three’ was found all over the country.
