Kathmandu: Nepal has won today’s match of ACC Premier Cup by 84 runs against Oman.
With the second win in a row, Nepal has a strong chance of reaching the semi-finals of the ACC Premier Cup.
After losing the toss and batting first at the TU Cricket Ground, Kritipur on Friday, Nepal made the highest total of 310 runs so far.
Kushal Malla scored a hundred to make his highest ever score in ODIs.
Earlier, he scored 297 runs against Papua New Guinea in League Two in March.
Similarly, Sompal Kami scored a half-century, his highest ever score in ODIs.
In reply, Oman could score only 266 runs after losing 9 wickets in 46.3 overs.
Nepal had a bad start in their 50th ODI. As the openers Asif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel got out for zero.
While chasing a huge target of 311 runs, Nepal’s leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane made a rare record.
He made a record by taking 100 wickets in 42 matches by getting Oman’s Adil Shafiq caught lbw in the third ball of the 13th over.
Earlier, Rashid Khan of Afghanistan made a record of 100 wickets in 44 matches. Sandeep, who made his ODI debut against the Netherlands in 2018, has the best bowling figures of 6/11.
