Nepal’s victory paves way to T20 World Cup qualifiers semifinals

Kathmandu: After a successful performance against Malaysia in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers, Nepal has clinched a spot in the semifinals.

Opting to bat first and setting a target of 166 runs for Nepal, Malaysia’s challenge was met as Nepal achieved victory with four wickets to spare. The aggressive batting duo of Kushal Malla and Kushal Bhurtel played a pivotal role in Nepal’s triumph.

Malla displayed outstanding form, amassing 65 runs off 34 balls, which included 7 sixes and 2 fours. Opener Bhurtel was equally impressive, contributing 43 runs off 25 balls, featuring 4 sixes and 4 fours.

In addition to securing a place in the semifinals, Nepal’s win also propelled Oman to the next stage as the second team from Group A. Oman had previously defeated Singapore on the same day.
Consequently, these results have eliminated Singapore and Malaysia from the tournament. The upcoming clash between Nepal and Oman on Wednesday will determine the group winners and runners-up.
