Nepal’s dream to reach ICC World Cup remains unfulfilled

Kathmandu: Nepal has been defeated by 7 wickets in the World Cup Cricket Qualifier match with Netherlands.

The general target of 168 runs given by Nepal was found by the Netherlands by losing three wickets in just 28 overs.

Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets and Gulsan Jha took one wicket. Earlier, at the Takashinga Sports Club in Zimbabwe, after the Netherlands won the toss and chose to field, Nepal, who batted first, was bowled out for 167 runs in 44 overs in 3 balls.

Captain Rohit Paudel scored the highest 33 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane scored 27, Gulsan Jha 15, Dipendra Singh Airee 14, Kushal Malla 12, Arif Sheikh 6, Bhim Sarki 22, Kushal Bhurtel 27 and Karan KC scored 1 run.

With today’s defeat, Nepal has failed to reach Super Six. America is already out of Group ‘A’. Zimbabwe, West Indies and Netherlands have reached Super Six from Group ‘A’.

Nepal defeated USA in their match and lost to West Indies, Zimbabwe and Netherlands.
