Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma Embarks on Official Visit to China

Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Prabhuram Sharma Commences Official Trip to the People’s Republic of China.

During his visit to China, CoAS Sharma is slated to take part in the prestigious opening ceremony of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which will be held in the Chinese capital. He will also participate in a courtesy meeting with General Liu Zhenli, Joint Chief of Staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army CMC.

Besides his official duties, Army Chief Sharma will also have the opportunity to explore significant cultural landmarks in Beijing, including the iconic Great Wall. Additionally, he will attend a dinner hosted by the Nepalese Ambassador to China.

CoAS Sharma’s itinerary includes visits to various units and educational institutions of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army located in Xi’an City, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. He is expected to return to Nepal on the 2nd of November.

Before departing, CoAS Sharma was given a farewell at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Kiran Raj Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, and Lieutenant General Sitaram Khadka. A contingent of the Nepali Army paid their respects to the departing Commander-in-Chief.

Joining the Commander-in-Chief on his journey is Mid Western Divisional Commander Brigadier General Prem Dhwoj Adhikari, who will serve as the Military Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief and a Staff Officer during the visit.

In CoAS Sharma’s absence, Lieutenant General Sitaram Khadka will assume the role of acting Commander-in-Chief.
