Nepali team leaves for Oman to play in T20 World Cup qualifiers

Kathmandu: The Nepali national cricket team has departed to Oman to play in the global selection of T20 World Cup Cricket.

In the Tuesday afternoon, Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj bade farewell to the Nepali national cricket team going to Oman to play in the global selection of T20 World Cup Cricket.

Minister Gahatraj has bid farewell through virtual media due to the Corona epidemic.

On the occasion, President of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) Chatur Bahadur Chand expressed confidence that Nepal would play better learning from past mistakes.

Nepal, Canada, Philippines and Oman are in Group A of the global selection. Group B comprises UAE, Bahrain, Ireland and Germany. The selection game is being played from February 18.

The top two teams from both teams will advance to the semifinals. The two finalists will then play the T20 World Cup in Australia in October.

Before the selection, Nepal will play four national series against Oman, Ireland and UAE.
