Kathmandu: Nepal’s national team has been announced for the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022 to be held in Kathmandu from August 21 to October 3.
Head coach Kumar Thapa announced the 23-member squad on Saturday.
Nepal will play with Bhutan and Sri Lanka during the group stage of the tournament. Defending champions India are in Group A with Maldives, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Nepal will play Bhutan in the opening match on August 21. The top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals.
The selected team includes goalkeepers, Angela Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, Usha Nath and defenders Hira Kumari Bhujel, Amrita Jaishi, Geeta Rana, Punam Jargha Magar, Nisha Thokar, Samiksha Ghimire, Bimla BK.
Similarly, midfielders Bimala Chaudhary, Manjali Kumari Yonjan, Preeti Rai, Saru Limbu, Deepa Rai, Deepa Shahi, Indira Rai, Anita Basnet, Anita KC and forwards Amisha Karki, Rekha Paudel, Savitra Bhandari, Rashmi Kumari Ghising have been selected for the match.
