Kathmandu: Nepal is preparing to host the 21st International Development Association (IDA) meeting, a significant milestone in the nation’s engagement with global economic development initiatives.
Scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from June 18 to 21, this meeting marks the largest program under the World Bank Group. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will inaugurate the event, highlighting Nepal’s commitment to fostering international cooperation for economic progress.
The decision to host the IDA meeting in Nepal, chosen over Tajikistan, reflects the country’s growing prominence in the global development arena. The gathering will bring together a distinguished array of attendees, including World Bank President Ajay Banga and other high-ranking officials, along with representatives from numerous donor and partner countries.
