Nepal requests Indian govt to search and rescue missing Nepalis in Uttarkhand landslide

Kathmandu: The government has requested the Indian government to search and rescue the missing Nepalis in the landslides in Uttarakhand.

Foreign Minister NP Saud called Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkarsingh Dhami and requested for the search and rescue of Nepalis who went missing in a landslide in Gaurikund of Rudraprayag district.

It is estimated that 19 people have gone missing in the landslide in Gaurikund of Rudraprayag, many of whom are Nepali citizens.

Chief Minister Dhami told Foreign Minister Saud that since this morning, security personnel and other agencies have been deployed to search for the missing persons.

Chief Minister Dhami also informed that he will visit the affected areas as soon as the weather improves. According to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, the missing Nepali is being searched for.

The bodies of three Nepalis and Indians who fell in a landslide at the starting point of the Kedarnath Dham footpath have been found.
