Kathmandu: Nepal has remained on 168th rank in the latest rankings released by FIFA, the apex body of world football. Nepal remains in the new rankings made public by FIFA on Thursday.
Last month, Nepal was ranked 168th in the public rankings. Nepal had played two friendly matches against India at home this month. The first match ended in a 1-1 draw while Nepal lost to India 2-1 in the second match.
Nepal ranks third among South Asian nations. India is 107th ahead of Nepal and Maldives is 158th. India has dropped by two places.
Similarly, Bhutan is ranked 187th, Bangladesh 189th, Pakistan 198th and Sri Lanka 205th.
Belgium remains at the top of the world rankings, while Brazil remains at number two. England climbed to third place while France dropped to fourth place.
Italy is fifth, Argentina is sixth and Portugal is seventh, while Spain is eighth. Mexico is still in ninth place. Similarly, Denmark has risen to the tenth position while the United States has dropped out of the top ten.
