Nepal police to provide Rs 1 mn support to families of deceased officers

Kathmandu: Nepal Police personnel will contribute from their salaries to raise funds for the families of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty during the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protests.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General Binod Ghimire, officers from the Inspector General down to Inspectors will donate a portion of their remuneration to provide Rs 1 million each to the bereaved families.

“A decision has been made to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 million to the families of police personnel martyred while serving during the protests of September 8 and 9,” the Nepal Police said in a statement on Friday.
