Kathmandu: Nepal has requested to facilitate the export of wheat and sugar from India.
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply has sent a letter to the Indian counterpart ministry through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday and requested to facilitate wheat and sugar export to Nepal.
India banned the export of sugar on June 18 and wheat on May 30 citing the food crisi in the country. Although India has said that the export is not valid for Nepal, the industrial traders have been complaining that the import has been affected.
Thus, a letter has been sent to India on Sunday to facilitate the export of sugar, wheat and wheat flour products.
