Nepal faces devastating floods: 49 lives lost amid continuous rainfall

Kathmandu: A series of disaster incidents across the country has resulted in 49 confirmed deaths due to relentless rainfall over the past three days. The Kathmandu Valley has been particularly hard-hit, with 32 fatalities reported in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kathmandu.

According to Nepa Police, 34 individuals have been injured, while 40 remain unaccounted for. Rescue operations are underway, with police working in coordination with various agencies to reach those in need.

The heavy rains have caused significant disruptions, blocking major highways in 44 locations nationwide. So far, over a thousand people have been rescued. In the Kathmandu Valley alone, 17 injuries have been reported, and 12 individuals are still missing.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are urging citizens to exercise caution during this ongoing crisis.
