Nepal earns 32 and a half bn from tourism in last 12 months

Kathmandu: The improvement seen in the tourism sector affected by the Corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic has gradually started to be seen in the income as well.

Tourism income has improved in the fiscal year 2021/22.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the tourism income this year is 32.44 billion rupees.

The income from tourism sector was reduced to only Rs 7.26 billion in the previous fiscal year 2020/21. The travel and tourism sector was badly affected by the pandemic.

Meanwhile, in the fiscal year 2019/20, the tourism income was 60.85 billion rupees. In the last four months of that year, the arrival of tourists was stopped due to the corona epidemic.
