Nepal defeates Scotland on last match of ICC Men’s CWC League 2

Kathmandu: Nepal has defeated Scotland in the tri-national ODI series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.

Nepal met the target of 213 runs given by Scotland by losing 8 wickets in 44 overs.

Captain Rohit Poudel batted excellently for Nepal. He remained not out and scored 95 runs off 101 balls.

Similarly, Karan KC scored 31 runs not out. Rohit and Karan shared 75 runs for the ninth wicket when Nepal scored 138 runs and 8 players were out.

This partnership is Nepal’s highest partnership in ODI cricket so far. Scotland’s Mark Watt took 3 wickets and Chris Graves took 2 wickets.

Earlier, Scotland, who lost the toss and batted at the University Cricket Ground Kirtipur, got out after scoring 212 runs in 46 overs.

Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took 4, Karan KC 3 and Lalit Rajvanshi and Kushal Malla took 1/1 wicket each.

Nepal has won all 4 matches played in the series at home. In the previous match, Nepal defeated Scotland by 3 wickets. Similarly, in the last match, Nepal defeated Namibia by 3 wickets and in the first match by 2 wickets.

This is the first time that Nepal won in the fourth consecutive match in League-2.

Along with this, Nepal has made a clean sweep in the series.

With this win, Nepal is in sixth place with 26 points in 28 games. Scotland, which has 50 points in 36 games, has become the champion of League-2.
