Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced discounts on international airfare following directives from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.
NAC Spokesperson Ramesh Paudel confirmed the decision to provide reduced fares on select international destinations.
According to a press release issued by NAC, passengers traveling to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore will receive discounts of up to Rs 2,500.
Similarly, a discount of up to Rs 5,000 will be available for flights to Doha, Dubai, Dammam, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Narita.
The announcement comes amid ongoing repairs and expansion work at Tribhuvan International Airport, which has led to a daily 10-hour closure. The reduced flight schedule has prompted complaints of steep airfare increases by various airlines.
Tourism Minister Badri Pandey had earlier instructed international airlines operating flights from Nepal to submit their updated fare rates within 24 hours, aiming to regulate and stabilize airfares. NAC’s decision aligns with the ministry’s efforts to address public concerns and make air travel more affordable.
