Landslide disrupts national highways

Kathmandu: Landslide caused by the heavy rainfall today has disrupted national highways and other roads.

Roads from Sankhuwasabha to Sammatar and Varun Khola on the Koshi Highway from Biratnagar to Kimathanka via Dhankuta have been damaged.

Similarly, landslides have been reported in Udayapur of Lamjung and Mardibhir of Manang under Dumre Besisahar Chame Road are closed.

According to the Department of Roads, the landslide has obstructed 45 roads on the national highway, reopening four roads unilaterally and completely reopening 37 roads.

Roads have been closed in 12 districts besides the main highway. Roads have been closed in Sindhuli, Darchula, Morang, Baglung, Pyuthan, Dhading, Dang, Tanahu, Nawalparasi (East), Dhankuta, Udaipur and Solukhumbu.
