Labour ministry begins 24 hours call center service

Kathmandu: The government will provide 24-hour service from the call center, that will listen to all labor-related grievances, including foreign employment.

Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha inaugurated the 24-hour extension of the call center at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security in Singha Durbar on Sunday.

Complaints can be lodged not only by phone but also through Facebook, Viber, Imo, WhatsApp etc. in the help desk.

This service can be used to get information, make suggestions or make complaints about the services and programs of the Department of Foreign Employment, Prime Minister’s Employment Program, Contribution Based Social Security, Foreign Employment Board, Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security and its subordinate bodies.

Anyone can use the call center by dialing 1141. There is no charge for users to call on this number.

In recent times, the number of Nepalis who are suffering and stranded due to various reasons while going abroad and employment abroad is increasing.

After the expansion of the service of the help center, those who have faced problems abroad will be able to register their grievances and complaints with the government directly within 24 hours through telephone or modern messaging app.

On this basis, the government will take the initiative for the necessary assistance and move ahead with the rescue process.

The call center will immediately register such complaints and workers’ problems online and inform the concerned embassies, missions, departments and government agencies.
