KP Oli appointed Nepal’s Prime Minister following government dissolution

Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli officially assumed office as Nepal’s Prime Minister after President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed him on Sunday under Article 76(2) of the Constitution.

The appointment follows the dissolution of the government led by CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, prompting President Paudel to set a deadline for the formation of a new government by 5 PM on Sunday.

KP Oli, supported by 166 Members of Parliament, staked his claim to the premiership on Friday night. His swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Monday at Sheetal Niwas.
