Kathmandu: Mayor Balendra Shah of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has taken the decision to suspend three employees, including the Chief Secretary, on charges of irregularities in decision-making and implementation within the municipal executive and administration. The suspended individuals are Chief Secretary Nurnidhi Nyupane, Head of the Health Department Ram Prasad Poudel, and Senior Section Officer Bhagwati Bidari.
Following a dispute among the employees, Chief Administrative Officer Basanta Adhikari has been relieved of his duties. The Metropolitan City had earlier informed the Chief Administrative Officer about his impending transfer.
The decision was made during a meeting of the executive committee, where it was initially decided to grant continuity to five employees at the Health Development Center in Ward 19. However, discrepancies were found upon verification, leading to the suspension of six individuals.
