‘Junk food’ banned in schools

Kathmandu (Rastriya Samachar Samiti): The government has banned the provision of ‘junk food’ in all community schools across the country.

The Education and Human Resource Development Center, Sanothimi, has published a booklet titled ‘School Diary Management Assistance Booklet’ on Monday.

The center has prepared 60 different types of ‘menus’ and made the booklet public by giving priority to locally produced food.

The government has already sent Rs 7.72 billion to the schools for lunch. Under this, daily lunch will be provided free of cost to 2.94 million students from all over the country.
